SavingStar and UPromise offer great digital coupon savings!
06/07/2011 18:15I love electronic coupons because there is no clipping and you really don't even have to think about them because once they are on your loyalty card, they are ready to use. There are two great sites for electronic coupons that I wanted to make sure that you knew about because they do not operate like the other electronic coupon sites like Cellfire and ShortCuts or a store's digital coupons.
Have you joined SavingStar yet? I really like this site because it is a great way to stack more coupons and make your deals even better. Many of the stores that used to let you stack electronic coupons with paper coupons no longer allow it, but the coupons that you load using this account do not seem to count as electronic coupons in the store so I have not had any issues with using them. SavingStar is a little different from other electronic coupon sites because the savings do not come off at the register. When you sign up for SavingStar, you will enter your store loyalty card numbers so that your coupons can be added to your cards. When you use your loyalty card to checkout at the store, your bill will stay the same but the value of the coupon(s) that you used will be added to your SavingStar account. When you reach $5.00 in your SavingStar account you can choose a payout by bank deposit, PayPal, an Amazon.com gift card, or donate it. Since the coupon is not deducted from the total immediately like other electronic coupon sites, it does not seem to interfere with using paper coupons at the same time.
Another electronic coupon source that does not seem to interfere with using paper coupons is UPromise. I have been using this program for several years and it is great for saving money for college without even realizing it. They offer several different ways to save money including shopping online, dining out, grocery coupons, buying gas, and more. Upromise has partnered with more than 21,000 grocery stores nationwide, offering thousands of eligible and thousands of items from many of your favorite brands, to make saving for college as easy as picking up a bag of groceries. This is a great way to earn, automatically, for something you're already doing. All your earnings go directly into your Upromise account. Then, you decide if you'd like to a) invest them in a 529 college savings plan, b) use them to pay down student loans, c) receive a check for college expenses. A really nice thing about this program is that you can assign the money to anyone - your own children, your nieces and nephews, friends, or just about anyone. I would strongly encourage you to ask your friends and family to help you save too - it is completely free for everyone.
Take a minute to sign up for SavingStar and UPromise if you have not already done it. Both programs are free and will help you earn some extra money for the shopping that you are already doing. If you have any questions about either program, please feel free to post them and I will do my best to answer them.
